First Navy Flag = Liberty Tree Flag, or<br>"Appeal to Heaven" Flag, or<br>Washington Cruisers Flag

The best place to learn the truth of the First Navy Flag, the Evergreen Tree of Liberty Flag, the Washington Cruisers Flag with the motto "Appeal To Heaven" from John Locke that is a "Call to War".
~~/~~/~~/~~<> The First Navy Flag is NOT the fictional flag of the "Snake Over Stripes"
"Retreating Rattler" with its plaintive plea (Please) "Don't Tread On Me" created from legends and lies,
and sadly, on United States Navy ships currently flies.

True Tree v. Fake Snake

"The great enemy of truth is very often not the lie, but the myth, persistent, persuasive, ...
...and unrealistic." - President John F. Kennedy, above Navy LT j.g. Jack Kennedy [... such as the Myth of the currently flying Navy Jack "Fake Snake" flag. When does America again fly the true "Tree of Liberty" flag?]

"Captain" AND Commander - in - Chief George Washington

The orders of the Continental Congress to George Washington, on page 5, are quoted:
“to command all the continental forces raised, or to be raised, for the defense of American liberty.”

“If the British could not be driven out of Boston, perhaps they could be starved out, which meant stopping their flow of supplies. But Washington had a more immediate problem – an urgent need to equip a threadbare army…” writes author Chester Hearn, on page 7.

“What Washington needed was a navy, but there was none, and the Continental Congress doubted if one would be needed.” on page 3 are some well worded phrases.

Later on the orders continue, “all particulars cannot be foreseen, nor positive instructions for such emergencies so beforehand given…many things must be left to your prudent and discreet management, as occurrences may arise.”

“Washington wanted a few fast vessels… And he wanted his schooners mobilized without delay.

As Congress labored in chambers, debating the practicality of creating and financing a navy, the general decided the matter for them.

He pressed his schooners to sea in the fall of 1775, and prizes began to flow.”

Washington
wrote reflectively, “A fortunate capture of an ordnance ship would give new life to the camp, and an immediate turn to the issue of this campaign.” page 7 from the book
"George Washington’s Schooners"
published by The United States Naval Institute Press in 1995
written by Chester G. Hearn (LoC#E271.H43 1995).

Flag Expert Dr. Whitney Smith says:

In the definitive article debunking the "Fake Snake" flag written by president Peter Ansoff in the RAVEN, the journal of NAVA (association of flag experts), scholar Ansoff writes on Page 20:
Dr. Whitney Smith, founder and director of the Flag Research Center, has said of Admiral Preble’s work:
“…Original research is time-consuming and demanding and it’s easy to assume
that published sources are correct and can be trusted.

Those who have written books and articles or have created web sites about American flags have for the most part relied on work done by Preble.

As a result there is a constant repetition of misinformation that gives certain designs the impression of accuracy.”

And note: Admiral Preble TRIED to correct an error from 1872 to 1880, by removing his text about the "Fake Snake" Navy Flag, but due to expense, the book publisher used the old color plate and thereby perpetuated the myth of the "Don't Tread on Me" "Fake Snake" Flag.

Time to Rhyme?

America's "Appeal to Heaven"
Sails across the Seas, all Seven
Let US lift high in the sky
Our Liberty flag - forever fly!

"Tall and Tough as a Tree!"

My
boy, Bill !
he'll be tall
and tough as a tree,
will Bill !
Like a tree he'll grow

with his head held high

and his feet planted firm
on the ground.

And you won't see
nobody dare to try
to boss him
or toss him around !

No pot-bellied,
baggy-eyed
bully'll
toss him
around !

"George Washington" 'States'Manship
Box 1776, Mount Vernon, Commonwealth of Virginia, United States
"Master of American History" per John McCaslin of The Washington Times on 29 Nov 2005; in 2003 wrote a "Revolutionary" Christmas play telling of the true first Statue of Liberty of a black boy soldier - who gave his life for your Liberty; in 2002 in-person history work was compared by Delegate Lee Ware to the work of David McCullough in books; from 1998 to 2001 former member of the Board of Visitors to Mount Vernon appointed by Governor Gilmore. At age 12, wrote a 168 page paper on the War Between The States encouraged by my mentor from church, Ralph McGill. *** McGill was the Publisher of The Atlanta Constitution, and instructed me at age 10 to read and love "tHis Constitution FOR the United States of America" because as a young reporter, McGill witnessed the Austrians vote away their written Constitution for the promises of the government, the Nazi government! I ask how far are we in America from voting away our God given Constitution? *** Ralph McGill received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in a.d. 1964, and the Pulitzer Prize in a.d. 1959. I was blessed by McGill's mentorship for he was called: "The Conscience of the South".
